Creating a link can be fairly overwhelming given how much can be filled out and especially if the Advanced section is expanded. I think a couple of things would help - once you choose to create a link, keep this screen focused on only that task. Don’t have the dashboard and quick overview sections and above and don’t have the My Links section at the bottom. Kind of like when a prospect comes to your landing page. You want to keep them focused on doing that most important thing and not getting distracted or overwhelmed.

I also think this process could be more obvious. It took me several minutes to realize the importance of first I need to enter the URL and then I need to click on the tiny cog icon and definitely don’t click on the shorten link yet. Once I had everything filled out, way down at the bottom of the screen, it tooks me several minutes to figure out what I was supposed to do. Perhaps the shorten button could also be down here. Overall, I may not have the best solution but I am hoping I have explained the confusion and cognitive load of the current process.
